The last couple of weeks have been Simply The Best! Hope y'all have had a fantastic start to the Year of the Snake. Let the transformations begin. 😸

There is one sentence that keeps coming back to me when I look to evaluate my life in blocks of years at a time.

What's stopping you from living to your highest potential?

(And when I ask myself, the answer is so damn clear. 🎯)

So, ask yourself for a minute.
Are you living to your highest potential today?
And if not, then why not? What's stopping you?
Is it the environment?
Is it some belief within you that thinks it's only a pipe dream?
Maybe both?

There are moments in life that feel like a quicksand in slow motion.

You're so deep in it, that you can't comprehend what's happening in the environment around you and what it is to be on dry land again.

And as you sink deeper you allow people to disrespect you. You lower your boundaries as you struggle to just keep your head above the sand. You allow people to keep you guessing and be OK with it. You don't see through the characters people are showing you - the consistent inconsistencies, the continuous inconsideration, the shameless inauthenticity.

Last week I was blown away watching Tina Turner: The Musical in London. Wow. I knew little about her personal married life and seeing someone so strong suffer through such a toxic marriage - the insincerity, the need for control and the abuse, it got my blood racing.

And it made me reflect back to the question: What is stopping you today from living to your highest potential?

"Sometimes you’ve got to let everything go—purge yourself. If you are unhappy with anything… whatever is bringing you down, get rid of it. Because you’ll find that when you’re free, your true creativity, your true self comes out." - Tina Turner

Once Tina started finding her own voice, Ike Turner started getting bothered by her "shenanigans". Couldn't take her light. Cause she wouldn't be controlled. And in the end, he didn't even have the audacity to accept his role and look her in the eye.

It's so important who you choose to surround yourself with and what is the language being used to address YOU every day. True friends, partners, family members won't be jealous of your growth and want to put you down. They won't look for random excuses to make the situation about them, to stir drama and then pretend they are the victim in the hell of their own making. Nope.

In the past few years, I had collected a stack of people who would only say things that are negative as "just a joke" or because "they are older" or because "that's the place for a woman" etc etc etc. They make you second guess every single thing.

But hang on a sec, why did I have such a pristine collection of classic characteristic crap around me?

What were the thoughts within that were reflecting this back to me like a mirror?

That's the key.

We have to take the journey within ourselves and find the clues.

The Year of the Snake is about Transformation. You can't transform unless you meet yourselves where you are Today.

This week I have two meditations that are following this theme.

  1. Shedding Your Self-Limiting Beliefs
  2. Becoming Your Authentic Self

I invite you to take this journey and truly be honest with yourselves.

And if you were someone who behaved like Ike Turner in some life time, I invite you to look deep and see what made you this way.

Take care,
Suchi
