If you follow me on The Curious Yogi, you will see I did monthly moon meditations. Having been doing this for over a year, I feel more attuned to the sun and the moon and weirdly now these times have become markers for me and I genuinely feel more connected with the Universe or the cosmos. There is a lot of literature out there on the benefits of Moon meditation and why it can connect quite deeply to our mind and body.
Here are a few benefits I have seen on meditating under the Full Moon & New Moon.
- Letting Go of What No Longer Serves You
It's a great time for a cleanse. We collect so much worry, anxiety through the days. Think of Full Moons as a spring cleaning of the mind. Spending some time specifically for just reflecting and letting go of the worries, issues, ego etc is a great time for general mental health. You can do it as simply as making a list and saying, βI release you!β
2. Moon Bathing & Healing Visualizations
Moonlight has the ability to rejuvenate your psyches. On the night of the full moon, immerse yourself under the moon light and visualize that all your old wounds are healing under the moonlight. 3. Chakra Cleansing
Meditation on a full moon day usually assists in activating the crown chakra and bringing an abundance of divine energies into the body. Divine energy is essentially self-aware, and it cleanses our body of all negativity. I usually do this as a ritual for every Full Moon.
4. Heighten awareness
We all have a tendency to believe that we understand ourselves very well. However, everything you know for yourself is surface level. Meditation possesses the ability to assist you in developing a deeper connection with yourself and in seeking the unknown spiritual reality. Just use it as a time to connect with yourself - without social media and other distractions.
5. Connecting with the Higher Self & Building a Ritual
Finally, Moon meditations help build a ritual. It allows us to build a perspective and window to see ourself. And a Moon Β meditation is the most beautiful ways to enter into a conversation with ourselves.
