There are two kinds of people in this world - those who abandon you and those who stand by you till the end.
Hey friends. Writing this from 37,000ft flying back home and I chose to watch King Arthur on the journey. (Yes, I Googled what happens to the dog before the movie but what an emotional rollercoaster). I didn't expect to cry for an hour straight but I am feeling so proud of the character Mark Wahlberg plays (based on a true story!)
It makes me so happy to see movies made like this that can truly represent the love one feels for an animal. The bond, the emotion, the unsaid communication, the belief. I feel people who love animals, who truly respect them as living souls not just for the ‘gram, speak a special language. A special language of love that is so selfless, so unconditional, not ruled by ego but pure, unfiltered.
This is not a movie review but I'd love to refer to this movie and draw some parallels I have found about the bond between humans and animals from my own experience.
Questions I was looking to answer through the idea of "Animal Soul Contracts" (which is a bond or a contract between an animal and a human, just like a business agreement)
Why did you choose me?
Why did we meet?
How did we grow from our time together?
Will we meet again?
Everything happens for a reason. There are no coincidences. When I found out about Mocha’s cancer, I was in complete denial. But a month into the realization, things started becoming serious and I was trying so hard to be a calm guardian to her and give her a happy home - as that's what I felt she needed. Her full pack. Her full family. Like it used to be. And a mom who is the happy, silly buddy to her monkey. I tried my best but I fell short. I failed.
The biggest thing I had to deal with was the idea of death, which I have had to truly try to process for the first time in my adult life, despite having lost my father at a young age. It was only when Mocha's condition became tougher I was fearing the idea of losing her and asking what death meant and why we are here! What's the purpose of life? And this rumbled into my discovery of Animal Soul Contracts.
Not only did I read this book but I also set-up an urgent 1:1 consultation with the author (Tammy Billups) who connected with Mocha & me in a special place to share with me our Soul Contract. (It was truly a remarkable experience).
If you're a dog parent, you know when your dog isn't feeling ok, when they are misbehaving, when they are acting silly and when they are sad. You know it. You know that they understand everything you say. Just like in King Arthur, when Wahlberg asks Arthur if he wants to give up or if he wants to fight and Arthur immediately gives him his paw. The way Arthur sleeps with Wahlberg on the street and how Wahlberg knows that Arthur won't be able to stay alone in a crate or want to sleep in a hotel room. There is an unsaid language between the two.

That's the beginning of a contract.
Animal Soul Contracts: Sacred Agreements for Shared Evolution by Tammy Billups explores the spiritual connection between humans and their animal companions.
Soul Contracts and Spiritual Evolution: Billups explores the concept that humans and animals form spiritual agreements before birth, designed to facilitate mutual growth and healing. These contracts can involve addressing past traumas, accelerating spiritual development, or simply providing unconditional love and companionship.
Understanding Animal Behavior and Health: The book delves into how animal behaviors and physical ailments can be understood as manifestations of these soul contracts. By recognizing the underlying purpose of these challenges, humans can foster deeper connections with their animal companions and facilitate healing for both parties.
Practical Guidance for Deeper Connection: Billups provides practical tools and exercises to identify and understand these soul contracts. By cultivating a deeper awareness of the spiritual bond between humans and animals, readers can foster more meaningful relationships with their animal companions and embark on a journey of shared healing and evolution.
Back to the movie, King Arthur. I want to thank everyone who chooses to make a movie like that, celebrating love in such a pure way. It's a true story. And it does not surprise me at all. I hope to share the story of how Mocha has been guiding me too, some day 😊.
To end, here is something I hope you ASK yourself:
To those who find themselves on the crossroads, I hope you choose love.
To those who have an option to walk out and abandon people who love you, I hope you choose love. You don't know the tears that were spent each day attempting to make a home safe and complete.
To those who have an option to say goodbye to a soul that's leaving, I hope you choose love and choose to say the goodbyes out of respect to honor their love. We are all one and what you choose to do is the mark you leave on your soul.
You never abandon the ones you love. You fight for them. To infinity.
Today's post was inspired by this beautiful movie and the beautiful King Arthur. I hope he gives Mocha a giant hug in doggie heaven. Thank you for the beautiful story of bravery, resilience and pure love, Arthur.
You are One of Us.
